Bespoke handmade wire tree sculptures

My wire tree sculptures are handmade using craft wire that is twisted together using a unique technique to create one of a kind sculptures.

My method changes with each piece that I work on and I will adapt my technique to suit the style of tree I am creating. Sometimes I am inspired by a particular tree I have seen on a walk, other times it is a piece of driftwood I have in my collection that dictates what type and style of tree I make. I love being influenced by the materials I have available and I can spend hours lost in my own imagination as the sculpture in front of me slowly begins to take shape.

Once the wire work is complete I start to build up the scene around it, the wire trees are mounted on to various materials, typically driftwood, mopani wood, rocks or crystals along with various other materials to produce fantasy scenes, each with their own name and story to tell.

With a vast collection of shells, rocks, crystals, moss and all other weird and wonderful things, not forgetting handmade toadstools, I begin to select items that work. Finding just the right piece for each tree takes time but this attention to detail is what makes my sculptures so unique.
